How reshipping scams work

The packages may have been purchased using stolen payment information. The scammer uses the worker as an intermediary to receive and forward the goods, making the scheme harder to trace.

The fake employer may collect identity documents, bank information, or tax forms while also convincing the worker to handle packages. A professional-looking portal does not prove the business is legitimate.

You are hired quickly with little or no interview.
The job is mainly receiving, inspecting, relabeling, or forwarding packages.
The company wants to use your home address as a shipping point.
Pay is delayed until a probation period ends or a batch of packages is completed.
The business has weak independent history or the recruiter cannot be verified through an official company channel.

Safer way to respond

Do not forward additional packages until you verify the employer independently.
